1. Who we are

Mocally ("Mocally", "we", "us") builds and hosts websites for small businesses. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Your details. Name, business name, email address and phone number, and any address or opening hours you want shown on your site.
Business content. The description, services, prices, photos and other material you send us, plus the website or listing links you ask us to look at.
Messages. The content of your chats, WhatsApp messages and emails to us, including edit requests and approvals.
Billing details. Your plan and payment status. Card and bank details are handled by our payment provider, not stored by us in full.

Information we collect automatically

Usage and device data. Pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and timestamps.
Visitor statistics. For websites we host, we record aggregated visits and enquiries so we can show you basic statistics about your site.

Information from third parties

Public sources. Information that is already public about your business, such as your existing website, directory listings or your Google Business Profile, when you ask us to prepare a site for you.

3. How we use your information

To build, preview and deliver your website, and to make the changes you request.
To host your site, connect your domain, and keep backups.
To answer your messages and provide support.
To manage your account, plan and payments, and to send service messages such as preview links and receipts.
To keep the service secure and working, including preventing abuse and spam.
To show you basic visitor and enquiry statistics for your site.
To improve our product and, where permitted, to send you occasional updates. You can opt out of marketing at any time.

4. Legal bases

Where the law requires us to have a legal basis to process your information, we rely on:

Contract — to provide the website, hosting and support you have asked for.
Legitimate interests — to keep our service secure, prevent abuse, and improve our product.
Consent — for optional marketing and for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Legal obligation — to keep records where the law requires it, such as tax records.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, to remember preferences, to measure how the site is used and to keep it secure. Essential cookies are needed for the site to work; others are used only with your consent. You can control cookies in your browser settings, and you can withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Mocally, and only as needed:

Hosting and infrastructure providers that serve your website.
Payment processors that handle subscriptions and invoices.
Messaging providers that deliver chat, email and notifications.
AI providers that help generate and edit website content (see below).
Analytics providers that help us understand how the service is used.
Authorities where we are required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

These providers act on our instructions and are bound by contracts that require them to protect your information.

7. AI processing

We use AI tools to help draft and edit the wording, structure and images of websites. To do this, we may send your business content and your instructions to our AI providers. We do not use your content to train our own models, and our providers process it under their terms for business customers. AI output is reviewed as part of our process, and you approve every change before it goes live.

8. How long we keep information

Website content and messages — for as long as you have an account or a live site with us.
Billing records — for the period required by tax and accounting rules.
Visitor statistics — in aggregated form, for a reasonable period.

When you close your account, we delete or anonymise your information, except where we must keep it to meet legal obligations. Files you have downloaded are entirely in your control.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct information that is inaccurate;
ask us to delete your information;
object to or restrict certain processing;
ask for your information in a portable format; and
withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@mocally.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

10. How we protect your information

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and backups to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data safe and to limit who can access it.

11. International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside your country. Where information is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to protect it.

12. Children

Mocally is a service for businesses. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will tell you by email or in the product.
